I watched a couple powerslap competitions. I think the rules should be that participants alternate the slapping hand in each round, to force them to train slapping with both hands. And to distribute the damage to the opponent. I wonder how more or less harmful slapping is, versus MMA? I wonder about eye protection, too, since a slap is a fingers-out hit versus MMA where almost all hits are with a fist. I'm convinced the whole reason they made the new sport is to get tons of slow motion videos to post on youtube and tick tock.

It is a lot more dangerous. You can't block and you can't even flinch. You are forced to take a palm punch without moving your head/body to better absorb the blow. This is a clear invitation to concussions and brain damage. I seriously question the sanity of anyone who willingly does this.
