I member someone here telling me the owner was a sandnigger who used it to mine data. The captcha was a way of slowing you down while it was fingering your browser. I haven’t seen evidence of it doing so though.

What software do you run and how data is stored ? The archive runs Apache Hadoop and Apache Accumulo. All data is stored on HDFS, textual content is duplicated 3 times among servers in different datacenters and images are duplicated 2 times. All datacenters are in Europe.

How long the page will be stored ? Virtually forever. We have a lot of free space and although the archive grows with time, the storage and bandwidth get cheaper.

He must be working several free space accounts, otherwise this has to be costing the guy a small fortune.
