There will always be some percentage that is “gone forever.”

I’ve heard it quoted at as high as 20%. Though I hope that, like you say, it’s half that number.

I don’t think this particular camp is discussed much, but I believe there is a substantial faction who knows he was framed but literally doesn’t care. In their minds, wrong is only “wrong” if it’s not their side doing it.

I’ve literally heard these people say as much. They dislike the man so much that, for whatever reason, they’re fine with whatever it takes to get rid of him..be it unethical, illegal, or both. They seem to have a “Batman hero complex” where they believe that the ends justify the means, and that the actual law is to be treated as a mere suggestion and only if it’s convenient to them at the time.

Because they are so convinced that they’re “right”, they actually think that they’re doing us all a favor, actually.

They literally see themselves like Batman, when in reality they’re much closer to batshit (insane).

Little do they understand, however, that their fickle relationship with the rule of law will eventually endanger them. And that’s because at some point the opposing side will realize that there is no recourse using the law. That the only ones playing by the rules are them, and that it’s impossible to win by the rules when you’re the only one playing by the rules. That is the point at which “the men who just wanted to be left alone” get active. And when that happens, there is no restriction in their actions and the aforementioned “self-proclaimed Batmans” are subject to a brutal, scorched-earth campaign that they brought upon themselves. But by the time they realize it, it’s far too late.

I honestly don’t know where we are on the timeline that leads there, but we’re definitely closer every day.

It’s usually hovers around the 15% range. Watch poll numbers and there’s always a category of strongly disagrees or agrees depending on the poll.
