As far as I know, the first victim of this tactic was a guy called July4Patriot on YouTube. This was back during the early days of Ron Paul's Lovelution. Libertarians caught on quick however and the more prominent ones started having their emails screened. The FBI tried to hit Luke Rudowski next, but his team caught the email before it was opened. The FBI dropped the tactic shortly thereafter, but I wouldn't be surprised if they brought it back. How many people would still remember that?
