Channel info:

I believe in a principle of giving that many people call "tithing." You may have another word for it, but in any case I am determined to give a certain portion of what I have, on a regular basis, to those who are in need and to other worthy causes. I want to use this channel to keep track of these opportunities to contribute. Over time, hopefully we can put together the most complete list possible.

I am enabling comments because I need your help; if you see any opportunities out there that I haven't made note of yet, or if you have any input about the ones I've already mentioned, please speak up. But comments that aren't related to this purpose will typically be removed. Note: Some of the causes I list may not be your cup of tea. For example, they may be run by questionable people, or hosted on an objectionable platform. Feel free to say so if you want, civilly, in the comments. I should also mention that I can't personally vouch for the legitimacy of some of the opportunities I post. And I will list some things that I have slight misgivings about — causes to which I would only make a small, one-time donation at most — right alongside funds or people that I contribute to regularly.

The only criterion for whether I will link to a giving opportunity is whether I think the cause is deserving of consideration.
