On June 1, 2018, Mikaela Shaylynn Conley was killed by a classmate. Mikaela offered to drive Jalique Keene, with whom she had attended high school, home from the airport. During that trip, he abducted and raped the 19-year-old, then beat and strangled her to death. Surveillance footage captured Jalique dragging Mikaela's body through a school playground; he left it in a nearby wooded area where it was found the next day.
