On April 15, 2021, Michelle Lee Long was found dead in her apartment. According to a police report, Michelle was lying naked on the floor of a bedroom, with "multiple large contusions on her body and head which made her mostly unrecognizable. It appeared as if someone shaved Long's hair off her head as there were clippers on the ground next to her and large clumps of her hair near her body and in different parts of the apartment. Apparent blood was observed on walls inside the bedroom and closet." A bloody handprint on one of the walls was matched to Anthony Jones, who had been Michelle's boyfriend. According to his brother, Anthony called him and confessed to the killing, saying, "It's all bad bro, I'm gonna spend the rest of my life in jail."

Michelle worked in Hospitality Management for most of her career.
She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her daughter, Hailey.
Michelle is survived by her parents Mike and Peggy (Price) Long, Diane Stafford, her daughter, Hailey Long, brothers and sisters Justin, Heather, Norma, Red Eagle, Rachel, and Eric, and grandparent, Alice Manbeck.
She was preceded in death by grandfather, Glen Manbeck and cousin, Lincoln Carty.
