On April 8, 2017, Janine Ella Ackerman and Marios Nicolas Hortis were killed by a coworker. Because of an incident earlier in the day, Abeku Wilson had been fired from the gym where they all worked. He came back with a gun and shot Janine and Marios, who were managers.
