On April 3, 2016, Jake Andrew Brantner was killed in front of his daughter. Through an online marketplace, he had arranged to meet with Fazon Swinton in a grocery store parking lot. But when Jake arrived for the transaction, Fazon robbed and shot him outside his car. According to a witness who approached the scene after hearing gunshots, "There was a little girl sitting in the passenger seat crying and a man... outside the car bleeding... I asked if she was ok, she was, she was asking for her dad. I didn't want to say anything about her dad because from where she was sitting I didn't think she could see him laying there."
