On April 1, 2013, Jeffrey Schobert and Margaret Schobert were bludgeoned to death by their adopted teenage daughter's boyfriend. Shawn Ford had attacked the girl days earlier after she denied him sex; while Margaret was visiting her in the hospital, Shawn and his 14-year-old friend Jamall Vaughn broke into her house, found a sledgehammer, and struck Jeffrey over a dozen times. Then they used Jeffrey's phone to lure Margaret home, where they also killed her.
