On March 15, 2021, Sean Michael Barrett was killed at work. Sean was in the parking lot with De'Morius Polke after their shift together when De'Morius shot Sean multiple times, then shot himself as well. No motive has been announced, but a few days after the sudden killing, a relative of De'Morius wrote on social media, "I'm so sorry this happened but there is a lesson in this, be kind. You never know what anyone is going through." According to Sean's best friend, "He was probably the nicest man I've ever met in my life. He would give you the shirt off his back. Always had a smile on his face. He would do anything for anybody... He loved his son. He loved his wife. He was a good man... It is going to be rough without him."
