On March 10, 2015, Casey Dow Lindley was killed on the road. As Casey's fiancée picked him and some coworkers up from a late shift, she had been followed out of the parking lot by Tierre Wall in his pickup truck. After he tailgated her for some time, she and Casey and the others decided to exit their vehicle at a stop sign and speak with Tierre. A heated argument ensued, and Tierre shot Casey in the forehead. Then he drove to an ATM for cash before fleeing the area; he was later arrested in another state over 800 miles away.
In addition to his fiancée, Casey left behind two sons. Tierre claimed that he killed the 27-year-old in self-defense, but during his trial he also apologized, saying "I made a choice. I'm here to face the responsibility of my actions." Tierre's responsibility amounted to a sentence of five years in prison.
