On March 7, 2021, Joseph Donald Thomas Vindel was shot to death. Joseph had made arrangements online to sell a dirtbike to Jalen Harvey, but young Jalen showed up with counterfeit money and a gun. He shot Joseph five times, then moved the body to the back seat of Joseph's SUV. He drove the vehicle miles away, where he abandoned it, unloaded the dirtbike, and rode it back to his home. When the police tracked Jalen down, he claimed to have killed Joseph in self-defense.
