On February 28, 2021, Thomas Driscoll was attacked by a stranger while on vacation. A local boxer named Brandon Leath had seen Thomas walking with a female friend and decided to ambush him. He waited at the bottom of an escalator, and when Thomas descended, Brandon punched the 57-year-old, knocking him to the pavement where he hit his head and died.
