On February 23, 2020, Travis McMichael protected his community. He saved his own life and perhaps that of his father, but we'll never know how many more he spared. We cannot see who would have been the next victim of Travis's attacker — because thanks to Travis, they won't be.

There is much to be praised, much to be mourned, and much to be learned from Travis's heroic actions that day.

As much as I know that Arbery was up to no good, what these men did was reckless and stupid.

Unfortunately the crime they’re guilty of is falsely believing their half baked citizens arrest would be viewed fairly in the court of law.

They should have taken care of it more…quietly.
