On February 22, 2011, Brandi Marie Morales was killed by her ex-boyfriend. Upset over their breakup, Tyrone Harts had convinced Brandi's 7-year-old son to leave a door unlocked that night, and so Tyrone was able to sneak into Brandi's home. He shot the 35-year-old in the chest, and shot at one of her other children who tried to help her. Tyrone lit Brandi's body on fire before leaving, but the children used cups of water from their kitchen to put out the flames.
