On February 21, 2021, Eugene Lee Lasco was killed at work. A prisoner named Tymetri Campbell had attacked one of Eugene's fellow corrections officers and was stabbing him. When Eugene came to the other officer's aid, Tymetri stabbed him as well. Eugene left behind nine grandchildren.
