On February 15, 2019, Russell Beyer, Trevor Wehner, Josh Pinkard, and Clayton Parks were killed at work. Gary Martin had violated safety policies at the plant where they all worked, and he was being fired from his job when he began shooting. He shot Clayton, who was the human resources manager, Josh, who was the plant manager, Russell, who was the union chairman, and Trevor, who was on his first day of an internship and happened to be nearby. Gary also shot seven others, including several policemen. In the days leading up to the murders, Gary told a coworker, "If I get fired, I’m going to kill every motherfucker in here," and "I am going to blow police up." The coworker said that he didn't believe Gary because he "was always making off-the-wall statements."
