On February 13, 2020, Sabrina Louise Lowery and Shawn Alex James Lowery were killed in their home. Russell Calhoun and Ronnie Gaddis were engaged in a robbery when Ronnie shot the pregnant Sabrina in her abdomen. Russell later died during a confrontation with the authorities, and Ronnie agreed to a plea deal.
According to Sabrina's husband, "She was a wife, a mother, someone's daughter, only 21, never going to get to see our kids do nothing. While he only gets a little trip for 15 years he will still be young when he gets out she will still be gone. My son [Shawn] was a full blown baby, never got to meet his sisters, his father nor any one of us. It's not right [Ronnie] still gets to communicate on a daily with his kids and [Sabrina] was brutally taken from hers."
