On February 9, 1996, • Donald Leroy Moon, • Kenneth Arnold Brunjes, • Mark Anthony Bretz, • Joseph Anthony Belotto, • Joseph Timothy Clifford, and • Lelan Louis Brookins were at work when a former colleague showed up with a handgun. Clifton McCree, who had been fired many months earlier for his threatening, harassing, and insulting behavior on the job, fatally shot each of the six men and himself. In a note he left behind, Clifton said he wanted to "punish some of the cowardly, racist devils" who had cost him the job.
