On January 31, 2021, James Allen Cook was killed at work. James, who was an unarmed security guard at a train station, had reportedly been speaking with Nathaniel Smith shortly before Nathaniel shot him in the face and walked away. James left behind his wife, whom he had known and loved since high school, and their two young daughters.
