On January 22, 2020, Tanya "Christy" Jackson was hit by a stray bullet. William Tolliver, Marquise Tolbert, and Jamel Jackson got into an argument in a busy downtown area, just outside of a restaurant. When the dispute escalated into a gunfight, Christy was killed and several other bystanders were injured, including a 9-year-old boy whose femur was shattered by a bullet. Authorities recovered dozens of spent casings at the scene.
