On January 11, 1997, Ryan Hacke was on his way home from visiting grandparents. As the 14-month-old sat in the back of his father's car next to his 3-year-old brother, a nigger named Vaughn Mathis shot at the vehicle with a handgun, fatally striking Ryan in the eye.
According to Ryan's father, "I look up and I realize that there's someone standing there with two hands holding a gun pointed in my direction... [He] just started to open fire. Just kept firing away. I was hollering back to my children to duck... I was trying to figure out how to get out of there. Ryan was sitting in the middle right behind me and it was just horror. I see it a lot."
