On January 7, 1981, Bärbel Poore was working late at a gas station. Two teenagers named Kevin Stanford and David Buchanan came to rob the business; David tried to open the safe, then Kevin and David took turns raping the 20-year-old single mother. They shot Bärbel in the face and left with a few hundred dollars in cash and cigarettes.
