On January 6, 2007, Channon Gail Christian and Hugh Christopher Newsom were kidnapped. Letalvis Cobbins, Lemaricus Davidson, George Thomas, and Vanessa Coleman forced Channon and Christopher into the back seat of Channon's vehicle and drove them away. Christopher was sodomized, blindfolded, gagged, and shot in the head. Then his body was set on fire.
Channon was severely beaten, violently raped and sodomized repeatedly over the course of many hours. They made the 21-year-old swallow bleach, and also scrubbed her damaged genitals with it, in an attempt to destroy DNA evidence. She was found tied-up and wrapped in trash bags; according to the medical examiner, she slowly suffocated to death inside a waste bin.
