On December 30, 2012, Mary Stella Greco was killed. Mary, a retired nun, had paid Michael Briggs to shovel her driveway; she told her sister that Michael "seemed like a nice man... he had a nice face." After a new snowstorm, Michael returned and offered to shovel again, but this time he entered Mary's home and began stealing her TV. When the 82-year-old caught Michael, he choked and stabbed her; she sustained "extensive defensive wounds" on her hands and was found days later, covered with a bloody blanket. Michael drove away in Mary's car and tried to trade one of her rosaries for marijuana.
