On December 27, 2017, Jason Endres was asleep with his wife when he heard a commotion in his apartment complex. Lorenzo Eastland and another man broke through a door near Jason's, attacked a teenager inside that apartment, and stole a gun. As the two home invaders were running away, Jason came out of his own door to investigate the situation, and one of the men fatally shot him.
