On December 14, 1993, Sylvia Kathlene Crowell, Benjamin Josiah Grant, and Colleen Rose O'Connor were killed at work. Several months earlier, Nathan Dunlap had been fired from the family fun center where he and these three other teens worked. So he came in as a customer, hid in a bathroom until the business was closed, then emerged while the others were cleaning up after hours. He shot Sylvia in the ear, Benjamin in the face, and Colleen in the top of the head as she begged for her life. He also shot another young employee in the face, but this victim survived by playing dead. Finally, Nathan forced a manager to open the safe, then shot her twice in the head.
Nathan got away with $1,500 in cash and arcade game tokens – until he was caught 12 hours later. He had told a coworker that he was planning to "get even" for his firing. However, the manager who fired him was absent on the day of the killings.
