On November 23, 2018, Jacob Shedlock was killed by a friend. Kahzmeek Prater was holding a gun with one hand and trying to re-roll a marijuana blunt with the other when he shot Jacob, who was visiting Kahzmeek's house. The young shooter then threw the gun into his back yard and told the police that he had been in the bathroom when an intruder came and shot Jacob in the chest. Kahzmeek eventually confessed and was sentenced to a few years in prison for the killing; he was released in July 2022.
