On October 15, 2014, Rebecca Darlene Crook was stabbed to death. Months earlier, Norman Wadsworth had been a tenant in the apartment complex where Darlene was a manager, but he was evicted and sent to jail for threatening her and another worker with a knife. After his release, Norman returned and killed the 58-year-old mother of three. According to one of Darlene's colleagues, "She was just everything plus that a manager should be. I know she was caring to her residents. She went above and beyond... She was thoughtful, helpful, sweet. What a wonderful person."
