On October 14, 2010, Sandra Teichow was attacked at a laundromat. She had been visiting such businesses around the city, handing out quarters to those in need. According to Sandra's husband, "She just couldn't help helping people. She just had an interest in everybody." Outside the laundromat, Wilbert Thomas beat the 67-year-old, stole her quarters, partly undressed her, and strangled her with her own bra. Before she died, Sandra was able to take a picture of Wilbert as he walked away.
