On October 13, 2020, Willard Ray Dement was killed during an attempted robbery. Early reports indicate that Dequante Terry shot the 38-year-old in the head with an illegal gun when Willard resisted him. A woman and a young girl, who were relatives of Willard and present at the shooting, were also hit by gunfire.
