On October 8, 2016, Anthony Charles Smith was on duty as an armed security guard at a grocery store. A 16-year-old named Nature Williams walked into the store, shot Anthony in the back of the head, and stole his gun. Nature was apprehended after bragging about the killing and showing off the stolen gun to a high school classmate. Anthony is survived by his wife and a teenage son and daughter.
