On September 28, 2019, Brandy Michelle Hammons was killed by her boyfriend. Salaam Gregory, who was out of prison on "work release," got into a heated argument with Brandy as they were driving. When they pulled over and she walked away from the car, Salaam followed and shot her in the back with her own gun. Brandy left behind one teenage son.
