On September 27, 2017, Joel Todd McLemore was standing outside of a house with a group of four other people. A car pulled up and Demarcus Foster exited, pulled out a handgun, and said "y'all ain't seen nothing." Then he shot the 29-year-old in the back of the head. Demarcus got back in the car with Quinterious Truesdale and Maryam Rivera and drove away.
When Demarcus's life sentence was announced in court 18 months later, members of his family had to be removed for angry outbursts. Then Joel's family were escorted through the parking lot while the murderer's supporters yelled obscenities at them and called them "white crackers."
