On September 11, 2015, Margaret Wood Sheffield was found by a family member lying on the floor of her home, covered in blood. Her 16-year-old neighbor James Watkins had forced his way into the house, shot her with a pellet gun, beaten her, and stabbed her. Margaret had 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren at the time of her death.
