On September 10, 2018, Brandon Matthew Arndt was awakened by a banging on the door of his mobile home. When he opened it, he was shot in the face. A few days before his death, Brandon had gone to check on a neighbor after hearing her call out in distress. He helped her get some water and her prescriptions, but she was later taken to a hospital. Despite his own lifelong struggles with spina bifida, and a kidney transplant earlier in the year, Brandon had been helping the elderly woman for several weeks. But after she was hospitalized, her grandchildren Malcolm Woods, Kielah Parsons, and Darien Klindworth-Woods worked together to kill Brandon in retribution, because they believed he had somehow poisoned her.
