On August 30, 2012, Dustin Michael Deckard was walking down the street when some men pulled over to rob him. The attackers, Thomas Byrd, Kevin Sammiel, and Sherman Colson, who were all in their 20's like their victim, started fighting with Dustin and ended up fatally shooting him in the back and stealing his phone.
