On August 27, 2019, Margery Evelyn Magill was walking a dog in the city when she was attacked by a stranger. Eliyas Aregahegne stabbed the 27-year-old a dozen times in the back and stomach with an 8-inch knife. Her screams brought nearby residents to help, but she died at the hospital. Police found Eliyas within a few minutes by following a trail of blood from the scene of the murder back to his apartment a few blocks away, where he was watching TV.
