On August 24, 2017, Anthony Shane Whiddon was at work when a former employee shot him. Anthony was a father of two young boys and the head chef at a restaurant when Thomas Burns, a dishwasher who had recently been fired, came back at lunchtime and locked the doors. He killed Anthony and then engaged in a three-hour hostage standoff with the police.
