On August 17, 2001, Christina Carla Burmeister was on her way to a party when she was robbed and killed. James Dixon, his wife Markeisha Dixon, and another accomplice kidnapped the 20-year-old at gunpoint. They forced her to help them withdraw about $400 from her bank account, then slashed her throat.
