On August 14, 2014, William Rountree DaVitte was killed in his church's parking lot. He had stopped there for some quick maintenance he had volunteered to do, while his wife waited in their running car. Meanwhile, Daniel Robinson was searching for a vehicle to steal; he found William's wife and ordered her out, and when she reacted too slowly, he hit her with his gun. When William heard his wife and came to her aid, Daniel shot him three times and drove away.
