On July 10, 2020, Matthew Todd Bowersox was killed on a date. As Matthew was saying goodbye to Heather Campbell outside a restaurant, her ex-husband Christopher Fernanders pulled up in a truck and shot each of them several times. Heather died at the scene and Matthew, a 52-year-old with three daughters, died on the way to the hospital.
