On June 25, 2016, Terry Lee Lollis was shot to death. Dmarrion Gilmore ran his vehicle into a power pole in a fiery crash near Terry's place of business. When people came outside to see if the 19-year-old driver needed help, he brandished a gun and told them not to call the police because he had outstanding warrants. Noticing the commotion and power outage, Terry approached the scene on his four-wheeler, which Dmarrion then attempted to steal. As Terry tried to escape, Dmarrion shot him several times in the back. Terry left behind one daughter and one 5-year-old grandson.
