On June 22, 2017, Andrew Dean Pimentel went out with some friends for late-night drinks and what turned out to be Andrew's final meal. As they were eating, a man named Leon Caril threw a bottle at them. When one of them spoke up about it, Leon came at the group with a 9-inch bowie knife, stabbing Andrew three times in the chest. When police arrested him, Leon — who was out on bail for an assault from a week before — said "Fuck white boys, fuck white people. I'm ready to go to motherfucking jail. I'm ready to serve my 50 years."
