On June 18, 2016, Travis Mason was working as a security guard when two as-yet-unidentified young men entered his workplace and shot him to death. A young husband and father, Travis left behind twin 4-year-olds and a toddler. The day after his murder, Travis's wife said, "He has three kids that were waiting for daddy to come home at 10 p.m., and they stood up to say, 'Hey mommy, is daddy coming home yet?' ... until they finally fell asleep. I don’t know what to tell them. They still think that daddy is at work."
