On June 17, 2004, Charles Robert Bennett lost his life while working as a policeman. He and two other officers were in the process of arresting a man on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge when they were shot and killed by the man's roommate, and partner in drug trafficking, Kerry Spencer. Charles was 33 years old and left behind his wife and four-year-old daughter.
