On June 13, 2016, Robert Hildebrand was killed by a homeless man. Jason Shontee was stealing items and keeping them in an unoccupied apartment. As a maintenance worker for the apartment complex, when Robert found out about Jason's stash, he "wouldn't let him back in unless he was escorted by law enforcement, which was the right thing to do," according to a prosecutor. In frustration, Jason shot Robert multiple times.
