On June 8, 2004, Debra Darlene Rawls came home to find an intruder. Frederick Harris had pried Debra's window open and was in the middle of a burglary when she walked in. According to Frederick, "I heard the door open. She panicked. I just lost it." He found a knife, knocked the 48-year-old wife and mother unconscious, then stabbed her in the back. When Debra's husband came home from work, he found her body in the bathroom.
