One year ago today, Jonathan Pentland defended his neighborhood against a “youth” who had harassed a woman and threatened a small child. Though the intruder was already facing charges of trespassing and animal cruelty before this encounter, and has since been committed to a psychiatric facility, Jonathan’s good deed did not go unpunished. I salute him for standing up, despite the penalties, dangers, and hatred he and his family were made to endure because of it.
These lives mattered.
